Works well on the back of a Mazda 3 (with a hidden hitch - or any other type of Class 1 hitch added). I was concerned with the style of rack that just holds the bike's middle bar, so I went with this style instead - glad I did. It solidly holds the bikes in place. It will bounce around a little when driving over bumps, but the rack locks into the receiver with a bolt - really helping its stability. Surprisingly quiet - the plastic put between all moving parts really does keep it quiet even with 2 adult bikes on it.Assembly is quick - frankly only 2 bolts, and the 2 side arms that hold the bike tires folds up for easy storage.Note that this is NOT the locking version which costs more. However with a cable bike lock, I am able to keep it well attached to my car while I am biking.
